I have trouble as a little stutter to where I think what I’m going to say but can’t actually say it I have to either close my eyes and say it or look away to say it when I’m talking to someone directly.

stuttering is treated with Speech Therapy.. There are many schools for the same where they offer short courses of speech therapy.. where u can improve ur speech..

I’m an actor, and I’ve come to find that I have a problem with conveying my lines. For example, sometimes when I’m given a particularly long text to recite, initially it comes out extremely slurred and stutter-ish. It’s only after I’ve practiced the line tons of time do I get it near perfect. How do I overcome this or at least make it better?

Just totaly familiarise yourself with your lines so when it comes to performing them ou will be totaly fluid and it will be easy
trust me I lost out on a main lead in a westend show because I stuttered to much and the director told me I would have got the part if I hasent had stuttered so I went home nlearnt all my lines for another west end show with the same director n got the part

I stutter and my words come out too fast. I can’t read out loud or talk to people because I sound like i’m just mumbling words, lol. Is there any way I could help stop this?

Speech therapy is the best route to take. If you are still in school you may be able to get help there. If you have insurance speech therapy may be covered.

If none of the above is possible, the only thing I can think of is by constantly reading a complete book outloud and read and pronounce each word as if you were back in 1st grade. By reading out loud you will be able to train yourself to listen to yourself. This will take time. Find a book you really enjoy, find a nice quiet place where you are completely alone.

Don’t give up whatever you do. My son stutters and when he is on a roll of uncontrollable stuttering, I make him repeat every word very slowly. You are now retraining your brain to see the word, and then speak it.

I want to get layed but this damn speech problem is stopping me. I want to be able to talk to girls without looking stupid (stuttering). How can I stop other than therapy. 21 year old guy. Dammit I want it to stop completly.

Some medications that other stutterers have tried include lorazepam, citalopram, celexa, and buspar. Ask your doctor about trying an anti-anxiety medication while you are working on your stuttering. Be aware that your stuttering may be better than the side-effects of the medication, though.

Each stutterer is different, and a therapist who specializes in treating stuttering will be able to determine what will help you the most as they work with you.

I’m getting really annoyed by the stuttering, sometimes the words just won’t even come out no matter what i try. With the stuttering i usually make my self look like fool which i really hate, I’m currently 17 and stuttering is developing everyday in me.
